Monsters On Bikes! Open Call for Artwork
Monster On Bikes! Open Call for Artwork
Well, the show is 'Monsters On Bikes' If you feel your work fits somewhere in this description we would love you to be part of our show! If you are interested, please e-mail me images of work you would like to submit - please make sure that it fits into our theme - 'Monsters on Bikes!' and we will get back to you and let you know if you have been accepted into the show.
Opening at two locations in Highland Park (next door to each other); Bike Oven http://bikeoven.com and Flying Pigeon http://flyingpigeon-la.com These are both functional bike shops (not just galleries), so please be mindful of that when bringing in work (ie - no giant installations, super fragile thingies, or things that will jut out and poke folks in the eye). We cannot be liable for work in the shops though all the riders using the space are very careful.
We will be hanging the show on Friday, November 13th - spooky!
The show opening will be Saturday, November 14th from 6pm until usually around midnight.
I will stay at these locations to greet non-bike riding folks (so yes, we would love you to stop by even if you are not a bike rider :), but we am hoping most folks ride out and join the Spoke(N) Art Ride! Peddlers will meet at 7pm at York & Figueroa and visit all the local North East LA galleries for art night, and return to the Bike Oven And Flying Pigeon for the Monsters On Bikes opening party around 9:30pm. We will be cooking up some yummy grub, knockin' back a few brews (mmm, sodie pop!), and having some pinata fun!
The show remains up for the month, coming down Friday, December 11th.
Its your choice if you would like to sell or just display your work, but we would like to make a request of 15% donation to Bike Oven and 15% donation to the Bicycle Tree http://www.thebicycletree.org - two community non-profits to help folks get and repair their bikes. So you would keep 70% of sales. There are no other fees associated with the show - though bringing along some fresh baked cookies, or some sparkling wine in a box to share would be awesome!
If you could send us a pretty good idea of what you would like to include by around Halloween time, that will be swell and we will let you know if you are accepted into the show. Please let me know if you have any other questions and hope to hear from all you monster bike artists! Please do not contact the Bike Oven or Flying Pigeon directly - they are busy folks and not putting the show together themselves.
We already have some killer artists - come join us, or if you can't sumbit artwork at this time, please come check out the show if you are in Los Angeles!
